The Louisville Cardinals got the news they had been waiting for when Courtney Ramey announced for the program at a ceremony at his school. Ramey, who is one of the premier point guards in the country, selected the Cardinals over schools such as Ohio State, Illinois, Creighton, Missouri, Texas, Northwestern, Arkansas, and others.
This is the second big pledge for Louisville, and one that they had to work hard for. Ramey is one of the top true point guards in the class, and should fit well with Anfernee Simons who already picked the Cardinals earlier in the fall. For Ramey it was a decision he thought long about with numerous unofficial visits, but in the end it was Louisville that stood out the most to him.
Rick Pitino and the staff at Louisville made it very clear to Ramey from day one that they wanted him and he was a priority to run the show. For Ramey that was a big deal.
"I felt like I had the best relationship with Louisville," said Ramey. "They made it known I was a major piece to their team and also the location was perfect. Beyond that I love the ACC and their style of play was a big key in me picking them."
Along with the constant attention, Ramey also liked that Louisville made it clear he would be given the keys to the car from day one, and that he has a chance to make a huge impact in the ACC.
By landing Simons and Ramey early, the Cardinals are off to a tremendous start in 2018.
