Major colleges continue to track top 25 forward Jordan Mitchell

Five-star forward Jordan Mitchell has a ton of potential. The versatile forward is having a good sophomore season and is continuing to add major college interest.

The top prospect in Ohio’s 2019 class is clearly Jordan Mitchell. Mitchell has the size, length, and versatility to be one of the top forwards in the country in his class, and college coaches are making sure to pay very close attention to him.

“I’ve been playing pretty well,” said Mitchell of the season. “I’ve just being trying to progress through the season. We started off struggling, but we are coming together, and we should be back on top soon.”

He continued, “I am working on getting my jump shot more consistent, and doing better in catch and shoot situations.”

In terms of his recruitment, numerous schools have been in to see him, and continue to show him significant recruiting interest.

“So far I hear a lot from Wisconsin, Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, Xavier, Ohio State, and some other schools,” listed Mitchell.

Living just minutes from the Ohio State campus, Mitchell is able to make it quite often to games, and has been seen behind the bench for numerous contests.

About the Buckeyes, Mitchell said, “I’m starting to talk to the coaching staff a lot. They are starting to come see me more, and I have been to a few games, so we are building a better relationship.”

Two other schools have always talked with Mitchell about visiting, “I talked to Coach (Chris) Mack from Xavier and Coach (Fran) McCaffery from Iowa about visiting.”

When it comes to Xavier, Mitchell said, “I like their play style. Coach Mack talked to me about their system and how I’d be used, and I liked that a lot.”

About the Iowa Hawkeyes, Mitchell continued, “I like how they play. They also have had a lot of success and the coaches seem like good guys.”

For now Mitchell is in no hurry to make a college decision. He plans to play this summer with All-Ohio Red, and will go from there in his recruitment seeing who is interested before issuing a commitment.
