Penn State adds late class of 2017 pledge

On Wednesday night Penn State reached into the state of Florida and snagged an under the radar pledge

Because of location, the Penn State Nittany Lions at times have to get creative on the recruiting trail. Patrick Chambers and his staff did just that on Monday night as they reeled in the commitment of Trent Buttrick out of the state of Florida.

Buttrick announced his commitment saying, "Extremely blessed and proud to announce my commitment to The Penn State University to further my education and basketball career."

Buttrick is known as someone who can stretch the defense with his ability to shoot the basketball and has good size as a stretch power forward.

Other schools such as Air Force and Charlotte were involved with Buttrick, but after getting his offer from Penn State he picked the program.
