Four-star wing Luther Muhammad is one of the highest energy and toughest players in the 2018 class. Muhammad continues to refine his skill level, and with that college programs remain very interested in him.
“So far the season is going well,” said Muhammad. “We took a few tough losses, but overall it has been very good. We are getting better as a team.”
He continued about his junior year, “Personally I have been working on everything. I am working on my point guard skills, scoring, defense, just everything. I just know I have to continue to improve to be ready for college.”
On the recruiting trail a lot of interest is continuing in Muhammad, and he has seen a few games this year.
St. John’s has been recruiting Muhammad as long as anybody, and about the Red Storm, he said, “They run a three out offense with a lot of freedom. St. John’s just lets you go, and Coach (Chris) Mullin is willing to let you make mistakes and play through things which I like.”
Syracuse is another team that has been heavily involved recruiting Muhammad.
About the Orange, he said, “They tell me I could come in and play right away on the wing. Coach (Jim) Boeheim is also a Hall of Fame Coach who would be great to learn from.
While he hasn’t made any official visits yet, one school who could be in line to get a trip in that capacity is Notre Dame.
When it comes to the Irish, Muhammad said, “I like Notre Dame. They have a lot of freedom in their offense and Coach (Mike) Brey is a guy who develops his players. They are trying to get me to visit.”
Also Xavier is working to put themselves in a good position with Muhammad.
About the Musketeers, Muhammad responded, “I don’t know a ton about Xavier, but I like how their guards are able to play with freedom, and also it is a school that wins a lot.”
Look for Muhammad to play out the summer uncommitted and then make visits before coming to an eventual college decision.
