Three prioritizing Top 40 2019 SG Grant Sherfield

Top 40 2019 shooting guard Grant Sherfield already has several suitors. Which three programs are recruiting the four-star prospect the hardest?

Arlington (Texas) Mansfield Summit is home to one of the top prospects in the 2019 class in Grant Sherfield.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound shooting guard, ranked 40th by Scout, is known for his scoring ability.

“I’m pretty crafty with the ball, I can shoot from midrange and finish at the rim,” Sherfield said. “I can score from three levels. I want to get better at being a two-way player as well as locking up players and creating for teammates.”

The four-star prospect listed UCLA, Kansas, TCU, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor and New Mexico as schools involved his recruitment, with three of them recruiting him the hardest.

“The schools recruiting me hardest are UCLA, Oklahoma State and TCU,” Sherfield said, before breaking down what he likes about each of them.

UCLA: “They have a great basketball background. Lot of legends played there. I’ve been to the campus and it’s a great campus.”

Oklahoma State: “I’ve been to the campus and they have nice facilities and a great campus. They play pressure defense and try to score a lot.”

TCU: “They have a great campus, great coaches and I live like five minutes from there. They let their guards play and run pick and roll offense.”

Sherfield is in no rush to make a decision but has an idea of what he wants in a school.

“I just want to take my time so I can make the right decision,” he said. “I want a coach who lets me play my game and great coaches so I can develop my game.”
