It's a shame that the NCAA had to shut college coaches out of the annual Charlie Weber Invitational in College Park, Md. The event traditionally is a launching pad for various high school seniors to earn Division I scholarships and the presence of the coaches will sorely be missed.
In addition to the absence of the recruiters, a few teams are missing. Due to the tragic events last week, some teams travel plans were affected while a few others were simply weary of taking to the skies at this point. However, over 70 teams are going to make the journey to Maryland's campus.
"I think probably you'll have more underclassmen top guys then seniors," Charlie Weber said. Among the underclassmen scheduled to attend are Luol Deng and Will Sheridan, two of the better prospects in the northeast.
InsidersHoops.com (this site's new name) will cover the event in its entirety from start to finish.
