Blake Harris receives release from Washington, opens up recruitment

Blake Harris, a 2017 point guard from North Carolina, has opened up his recruitment after he received his release from Washington.

Three-star point guard Blake Harris has requested and received a lease from his Letter of Intent with Washington following the Huskies' coaching change.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound point guard from Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God originally committed to the Huskies in July.

On Tuesday, he announced via Twitter that he was opening up his recruitment.

"I want to thank UW for the opportunity, but due to the recent turn of events, I was granted a release from my NLI," said Harris. "I am opening my recruiting and have lots to consider and discuss with my family."

The Huskies' 2017 recruiting class still includes local products Daejon Davis and Jaylen Nowell, as well as St. Louis power forward Mamoudou Diarra. Technically, Michael Porter is still committed, although indications at this point are that he's unlikely to end up at Washignton.
