One of the top centers in the 2019 class is Makhi Mitchell, a five-star prospect from Forestville (Md.) Bishop Mcnamara.
The 6-foot-9, 225-pound post, ranked 24th in the class by Scout, describes himself as a versatile center.
“I get my team involved,” Mitchell said. “I make everybody else better and myself better. I’m a leader. I want to be more of a leader and work on wing and big man skills”
Scout talked to Mitchell before Georgetown coach John Thompson III was fired, but at that time the Hoyas were recruiting him the hardest.
“Georgetown is showing the most love,” said Mitchell. “They have a good atmosphere. I love the coaching staff and players. They really make me feel like it’s home. I love the staff.”
Makhi plans on being a package deal with his 2019 brother, Makhel Mitchell.
“We communicate well, can run high low action and are a threat to change the game,” said Makhi. “We’re looking for somewhere we can both fit in.”
