Six schools remain for Prentiss Hubb

Highly touted junior Prentiss Hubb shined at the Metro Challenge over the weekend and is now down to six schools.

Four-star guard Prentiss Hubb has been on the national radar for a while. Hubb had a big time junior season for Washington (DC) Gonzaga, and now he has six schools remaining in the mix trying to land his commitment.

About his junior season, Hubb said, “It was a pretty good year overall. We won four different championships and it was a great season with my team. We had great people coming off the bench, and individually I played pretty well. I feel like I made myself one of the top players in the WCAC and in the country.”

On the recruiting trail, Hubb has now narrowed his list to six schools. The programs remaining in the mix are Virginia, Villanova, Maryland, Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Kansas.

Of that group, Hubb has made a pair of visits.

“I have taken visits to Villanova and Maryland,” said Hubb. “I am planning on taking a couple more visits when I get a chance.”

About the Villanova visit, Hubb said, “It is just a great program with a great coaching staff. The coaches show me a lot of love. They tell me that they are going to get on me during the games, but afterwards it is going to be a family.”

He continued, “Also they run a lot of two point guard stuff where they get out and run when they have a chance, but also are controlled and the coaches do a good job of getting good shots for the players.”

When it comes to Maryland, Hubb said, “I had a really good visit. They showed me around the campus and the place I would be in if I went there with the team and things like that, so I like Maryland a lot.”

Look for Hubb to play through the spring and summer with DC Premier, and then make some visits before coming to a final decision.
