Jermaine Harris

Schools continue to make Jermaine Harris a priority recruit

Three-star power forward Jermaine Harris is one of the most heavily recruited players in Washington D.C., and has several high-major schools making him a priority recruit.

One of the toughest kids in the 2018 class is big man Jermaine Harris. Harris was one of the top performers at the recent Metro Challenge, and he continues to be the focus of high-major programs on the recruiting trail.

“We didn’t finish up as well as I would have hoped, but we started off strong and I think my season went well individually,” said Harris of his junior season. “I did more work inside than before, and then after that I went outside.”

Harris has long been on the recruiting radar, and he continues to add interest and make visits.

“Recruiting wise I’ve been hearing from Virginia Tech, West VirginiaCincinnati, Georgetown, South Carolina, Rhode Island, and a few other schools,” said Harris.

One school that has already put a lot of work in with Harris is West Virginia. The Mountaineers have had Harris on campus, and continue to make him a focus on the trail.

“West Virginia is a big and tough team that fits me,” said Harris of the Mountaineers. “They play excellent defense and they get after it every night, so I think they fit my style of play.”

When it comes to the Cincinnati Bearcats, Harris said, “I haven’t been around Cincinnati, but I’ve watched them on TV and they are a tough hard-nosed team and I think they fit me well.”

Also the Virginia Tech Hokies have put in significant work with Harris, and he feels he would fit in well with Buzz Williams and his staff.

“Virginia Tech is a very good school,” noted Harris. “They are in the ACC so you play against the best every night. I have a good connection with the coaches and I like the campus a lot.”

For now Harris plans to play through the spring with DC Premier before making visits and coming to a final decision on his college future.
