2020 PG Nico Mannion being targeted by Pac-12

Nico Mannion had a successful weekend at the UnderArmour Association in New York, showing why he already has several Pac-12 programs trying to land him.

One of the West Coast’s top point guards in 2020 is 6-foot-1, 165-pound Phoenix Pinnacle’s Nico Mannion.

Playing with Earl Watson Elite 16u this weekend at the UnderArmour Association, Mannion impressed with his ability to hit long range jumpers while he used his shiftiness to take defenders off the dribble and score around the basket, making his teammates better in the process.

“I’m a good floor general,” Mannion said. “I’m doing a good job finding my teammates. I want to keep getting better at everything.”

Mannion has a long list of offers already, including Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, USC and Utah. He broke down what he likes about each of them.

Arizona: “Arizona is close so I go there once in a while to watch games. It’s a great program, great coaching staff and the atmosphere is amazing.”

Arizona State: “I was there a couple days ago. It’s a family environment and they treat their players really well.”

UCLA: “I like the staff. The campus is gorgeous; I was there for a visit.”

USC: “I like the campus and coaching staff.”

Utah: “Utah has a family environment. I know the coaches really well because I grew up with their kids. It’s more of a family than a team.”

Mannion isn’t rushing his recruitment but has an idea of what he’ll want in a program.

“It’s really early right now so I’m waiting it out to see how things go,” he said. “Somewhere I can go immediately to make an impact and wherever I fit best.”
