There are always under the radar kids in the state of Florida, and one who seems to fit the mold this year is Lahat Thioune. Thioune had a solid opening weekend with 1Family at the adidas Gauntlet, and high-major programs are coming in to recruit the quickly improving prospect.
About his play, Thioune said, "I have been working hard on my low post game and just getting more skilled."
He continued, "I think I have played well on defense, but I know I have to work more on my offensive game."
At this point Thioune is just beginning to get acquainted with his recruitment. Schools are starting to recruit him harder, and programs such as Louisville, St. John's, Illinois, and UCF seem to be making him a priority.
Since Thioune is new to the country and doesn't have a ton of familiarity with any school he is trying to watch games as much as possible to see how he would fit in.
When asked what he is looking for in a school, Thioune said, "I look at schools who play together and play hard. I want to go to a place where all the players have fun and play as a team."
Look for Thioune to be someone a lot of schools take a look at as he continues to improve, and jumps into the mix as one of the top big men out of Florida in the 2018 class.
