Five-star Christian Brown continues to garner major attention

Five-star prospect Christian Brown was one of the top performers at the adidas Gauntlet, and elite schools continue to make him a priority recruit.

There just aren't many prospects who play harder or are more athletic than Christian Brown. Running with Game Elite in the adidas Gauntlet, Brown put his athleticism and toughness on display in a big way while playing in an age group up. For Brown he only knows how to play one way, and college coaches are taking notice and love how he is performing.

"My game has been coming along well," said Brown. "It was my first tournament playing 17U, and my shot was going down. Also I was passing, driving, rebounding, just everything went great for me."

He continued, "I have been focused on improving my ball handling and my decision making. I have a high motor, but I know sometimes I have to focus on slowing down and not just being on the go and making bad decisions."

On the recruiting trail Brown has too many offers to list. The stands for his games were packed with coaches, and Brown said numerous schools have indicated he is going to be a priority for them.

"Auburn, South Carolina, Louisville, Connecticut, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and others all said they would be seeing me this spring," noted Brown.

One school that has put in a lot of early work is Auburn. Bruce Pearl and his staff have been in to see Brown a lot, and he already has a strong relationship with them.

"Auburn is a good school and I have a good relationship with the whole coaching staff, especially the head coach," noted Brown. "They have been recruiting me since the beginning of my freshman year, so I have a good relationship with them."

Also Brown is very familiar with South Carolina, and he was excited to watch the Gamecocks make a run to the Final Four this season.

"It was a little surprising, but it was great to see them go to the Final Four," explained Brown. "When they got there, everybody in my hometown was talking to me about how me and Zion (Williamson) could build South Carolina basketball to another level."

He continued about the Gamecocks, "They’ve been recruiting me hard and coming to my workouts, so it is a school I like and I am interested in."

The Louisville Cardinals were also a consistent presence at Brown's games this past weekend, and Brown says that Louisville has made it clear they are going to start picking up the interest.

"They came in to see me recently and it was only the second time I talked to them, but they made it clear they are going to recruit me hard, and I know they have a great coach and are one of the best programs in the country," said Brown of Louisville.

For now Brown has no plans to make an early decision, but is keeping a close eye on who has him as a priority recruit.
