Armando Bacot

Armando Bacot is reeling in big time interest on the recruiting trail

Power forward Armando Bacot made a huge impression at the adidas Gauntlet, and has blue blood programs in hot pursuit.

One of the most improved players at the adidas Gauntlet was Armando Bacot. Playing with Team Loaded Virginia, Bacot put up big numbers and showed a high upside as a prospect. With that some of the nation's blue blood programs are picking up the interest in him.

"I think I have been playing great," said Bacot of the start to his spring. "I have been getting double-doubles, blocking shots, and just competing."

He continued, "I definitely feel like I’m a different player from last year. I am more athletic than I was, and just a better defender and more mature as a player."

When it comes to his recruitment, some of the most powerful programs in the sport have been in to see him.

"Kentucky, Duke, Miami, Kansas, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Virginia, LSU, just a bunch of schools came to see me," said Bacot.

He went on, "During the year I visited Duke and UNC twice. Also I saw Virginia Tech, Virginia, VCU, and a few other schools."

For Bacot the visit to Duke was a good one, and he really likes what he has seen from the Blue Devils program.

"It was a great experience," said Bacot of his Duke visits. "Everybody loves Duke, and the atmosphere at Cameron was great. Coach K is a great guy, and I like the campus a lot as well."

North Carolina was also able to make an impression on Bacot when he visited Chapel Hill.

"I feel like Carolina has a lot of interest in me," he explained. "The coaches really like my game, and I like how they play. They focus on the bigs and then they go outside, and one of the major things I look at in a school is if they are big man oriented or not."

Look for Bacot to continue to pile up offers as the spring goes along, and to be one of the most heavily recruited players at his position in the class of 2019.
