Four-star Prentiss Hubb talks upcoming Notre Dame visit and his spring

INDIANAPOLIS - Point guard Prentiss Hubb had a nice performance in DC Premier's win on night one of the Under Armour Association. Hubb spoke about the start to his spring and his upcoming official visit.

It wasn't the start to the spring that Prentiss Hubb hoped for last weekend in New York City, but he responded nicely on Friday night and had a tremendous showing for DC Premier. While he was putting on a show, many of the schools recruiting him were in attendance taking note.

"I started off slow last weekend, but I am coming out strong this session and trying to show who I really am as a player," said Hubb of his spring.

Recently Hubb narrowed his list to a final six of Notre DameSyracuseKansasVillanovaMaryland, and Virginia.

About his decision to narrow things down, Hubb said, "Those were just the schools I felt would fit me the best on and off the court. I had the best relationships with those coaches and I fit their style of play."

Upcoming on Sunday Hubb will begin his official visit to Notre Dame, and he is looking forward to seeing the school.

"I just want to see what they have to offer," said Hubb. "I haven’t had a chance to be on the campus and really sit down and talk with the coaches, so this will be a great chance to do that."

He continued about the Fighting Irish, "They just tell me how they always have good guards, and their playing style is built around their guards making plays."

At this point Hubb says he has no other visits set up, but he has seen the schools on his list.

One school he has seen several times unofficially is Maryland.

When it comes to the Terrapins, Hubb said, "Their message has been that I am their top priority and that I can produce big right away. They tell me that I can play alongside Anthony Cowan and be a major contributor."

Also Hubb has seen Villanova a few times, and he has always been impressed with the Wildcats.

About Villanova, Hubb said, "It’s just a guard school. They won’t have a lot of guards back when I would be going there, so if I do go there I could get on the floor early and be in the rotation right away."

For now Hubb says he has no set time frame on when he wants to make a decision.
