One of the West Coast’s top prospects in 2019 is Exum Elite’s Isaac Johnson.
The 6-foot-10, 200-pound power forward from American Fork (Utah) is Scout’s 42nd ranked prospect in the class.
On Saturday at the adidas Gauntlet in Emerson (Ga.), Johnson showed his high level mobility for the position, ability to score in transition or with his jumper, motor, rebounding and overall versatility and upside.
“Playing up to 17s team this year I have to adjust a little bit,” Johnson said. “Guys are bigger than me so I have to go the boards and see what comes.”
Utah: “They’re in the Pac-12 so I like the competition. They have a really good program.”
BYU: “It’s close to home and it’s an LDS school. They just got new facilities.”
Utah State: “They’re about two hours away and I like the fan base; they have great attendance.”
Johnson doesn’t plan on making a decision anytime soon.
“I’m just seeing what comes and will hopefully make a decision late junior or early senior year,” he said.
