Three working hardest on 2018 Denver SG Daylen Kountz

Daylen Kountz has had an impressive spring on the AAU circuit playing with Colorado Hawks on the adidas Gauntlet. The 2018 shooting guard has three programs recruiting him the hardest.

One of Colorado’s top 2018 prospects comes from Denver East in Daylen Kountz.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound shooting guard has good size, can score from all three levels, plays hard, sees the court well and rebounds for the position.

“I can score and get my teammates involved,” Kountz said. “I’m working on getting stronger and everything else.”

While Kountz holds offers from Air Force, Colorado, Rutgers, VCU, Wichita State, Wyoming and Portland State, he says three programs are recruiting him the hardest.

“Wichita State, Colorado and Wyoming,” Kountz listed, before stating what he likes about each program.

Wichita State: “I like how it’s close. It’s not too big and it’s not too small. It’s not too far from home.”

Colorado: “It’s the home city and team. I like the program; they have really good coaching.”

Wyoming: “I like the coaches; I have a really good relationship with them.”

At this point, there are no leaders in Kountz’ recruitment.

“Everyone is the same,” he said. “I’m wide open right now.”
