It has been a very impressive spring for Romeo Weems. Weems has lifted the play of his teammates on the court, and also improved his skill set. Now more schools are entering the mix for the highly talented 2019 prospect.
About his game and what he is working on, Weems said, "I’ve been working on my ball handling and shooting. I know I have to continue to improve in both of those areas."
When it comes to his recruitment, a handful of schools have already extended early scholarship offers to the athletic forward.
Tom Izzo and his staff have clearly made Weems a priority so far, and continue to try and get him to East Lansing.
"It was great to get the offer from Michigan State," said Weems of the Spartans. "Coach Izzo is a legendary coach and they get to the tournament every year, so I like them a lot."
Missouri recently stepped up and offered after the Tigers hired assistant coach Cornell Mann, a Michigan native.
When it comes to the Tigers, Weems said, "They just told me they are going to play fast and that they like how I would fit in with them, so I am interested in Missouri."
Also Ohio State came in with an early offer, and the Buckeyes are working to get into the mix with Weems.
"They told me to just keep working on my shot, and that they like my versatility," said Weems of the Buckeyes. "Ohio State thinks I could come in right away and make an impact."
For now Weems is in no hurry to make a college decision, and would like to make visits before issuing a commitment.
