It has been a spring of change for four-star forward Darius Bazley. The Cincinnati native has re-opened his recruitment, and switched AAU teams. Now he is focusing on improving his game, and re-starting his recruiting process.
"I think I have been playing pretty well," said Bazley of his spring. "I was good when I was in New York with Under Armour, and overall I think I have been doing okay. I know I can play better, but I am continuing to improve and just want to show everybody what I’m capable of."
In terms of what he is working on with his game, Bazley said, "I am working on everything. More so developing my outside shot and getting stronger, but I’m trying to improve all around."
When it comes to his recruitment, a lot of schools have worked to enter the mix with Bazley, and he is fielding calls from new schools all of the time.
Bazley's first offer after de-committing was from Xavier. The Musketeers campus is located only minutes from his house, and Bazley is very interested in the Big East program.
"Xavier is a really good school," said Bazley. "Their message to me is to stay home and leave a legacy in Cincinnati like Semaj Christon did. They tell me that I can get to the league and be a hero in Cincinnati."
Also a school that has been in touch that Bazley admits to being fond of is Syracuse.
"I just know Syracuse produces a lot of guys to the league, especially long and athletic forwards," said Bazley. "I have talked to Coach (Allen) Griffin and Coach (Jim) Boeheim. Coach Griffin says he wants to get me there for a visit, and Coach Boeheim is excited to watch me play in July."
For now Bazley says his plan is to play out July and see who all is interested before narrowing down his list or making a commitment.
