Rocket Watts

Rocket Watts has emerged as a priority recruit in 2019

Class of 2019 combo guard Rocket Watts continues to make improvements with his game, and has racked up several scholarship offers.

A good athlete with the ability to really put the ball in the basket, Rocket Watts has made people take notice this year. The class of 2019 guard had a tremendous spring, and is continuing to pull in high-major scholarship offers.

About his spring and improvement as a player, Watts said, "I think I have played well. I am doing a better job of being a leader and getting my teammates involved as a true point guard."

A lot of coaches made sure to see Watts during the season and the month of April, and he already holds numerous high-major offers.

"I have offers from Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Michigan State, and Marquette so far," said Watts.

Michigan State has typically tried to keep the best players home, and the offer from the Spartans was big for Watts.

"It was real big to get that offer," said Watts of Michigan State. "I watched Keith Appling growing up, and it felt real good to have the opportunity to follow in his footsteps. I was honored to get that offer."

Also Marquette has done an excellent job recently of recruiting within the state of Michigan, and two of their 2017 pledges are very close with Watts.

"I don’t know a lot about Marquette yet, but I hope to make an unofficial visit there and learn more about the school," said Watts. "What I do know is Jamal Cain and Greg Elliott are like my big brothers, and they are going there so that is big."

For now Watts is in no hurry to make a decision, but he does know what he is looking for in a school.

"Really I am just looking for a spot that has a coach who will stay on me and make me the best player I can be, while also helping me with my education," said Watts.
