Top 100 guard Eric Hunter talks top schools

Four-star guard Eric Hunter is a dynamic athlete with the ability to score, and he talked about his recruitment during the Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam.

Scoring guard Eric Hunter is one of the top perimeter prospects in the Midwest. Hunter has had a solid spring with Indiana Pros on the adidas Silver Gauntlet, and continued his play at the Bill Hensley Run N Slam. Numerous programs are interested in Hunter, as he continues to move forward in his recruitment.

About his spring overall, Hunter said, "The spring is going okay. We are figuring out ways to win, and trying to move in the right direction as a team."

He continued, "I have been working on my point guard skills, while also still scoring when I have the opportunity to do so."

Currently has offers from NebraskaButlerPurdueXavier, and Creighton with interest coming in from Indiana as well.

Nebraska has been one of the schools most consistently on Hunter, and he continues to be very interested in the program.

"Definitely I like the situation because I think I could come in and play right away," said Hunter. "Also Coach (Tim) Miles and Coach (Michael) Lewis are great guys, and I think it could be a great situation for me."

Butler is the school located closest to Hunter's house, and the Bulldogs continue to be a major factor in this recruitment.

"I have a good relationship with them, especially Coach (Ryan) Pedon," said Hunter. "They keep telling me to keep getting better, and that they like me a lot."

Xavier was the first major conference program to offer Hunter, and since then the Musketeers have remained in constant contact with him.

"They say that they want to see me to continue to get stronger and focus on scoring the ball," said Hunter. "I have a real good relationship with the Xavier, and Coach (Travis) Steele and I talk almost every day."

For now Hunter says he remains open in the process and is in no hurry to make a commitment.

"I am still very open right now," explained Hunter. "I will probably cut my list down after the summer, but I don't have a specific timeline for a decision."
