EYBL: 2020 PF Isaiah Cottrell impresses at Nike

EMERSON, Ga. - It's very early in evaluating the 2020 class but one of the west's top prospects comes from Las Vegas in power forward Isaiah Cottrell.

One of the West Coast’s top prospects in 2020 comes from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman in Isaiah Cottrell.

The 6-foot-9, 195-pound power forward was terrific on Friday at the Nike EYBL in Emerson (Ga.), playing with the Las Vegas Prospects 15u squad.

Cottrell has very good size for the position, a terrific frame with long arms, is a plus athlete, rebounds well on both ends, can finish above or below the rim and can score facing up or with his back to the basket.

“I shoot the ball well, rebound and I’m a playmaker,” Cottrell said. “I’m working on athleticism and my defense.”

It hasn’t taken long for Cottrell to pick up offers, as he listed them from St. John'sUNLV, Pacific, UCSB, Washington and LSU.

While Cottrell says no one stands out at this point, he did have a dream school growing up.

“I always liked Duke,” he said.

It’s early but Cottrell says he knows what he wants in a college.

“I’m looking for good coaching and a good fan base,” Cottrell said.
