There aren't many more imposing players in the EYBL, let alone in the 2019 class, than Isaiah Stewart. The four-star big man had a high level performance for the Albany City Rocks in their Friday night win. It was another in a long line of impressive showings for Stewart which has led to a major jump in his recruitment.
"It’s been a really good spring," said Stewart. "This is my first year playing up, and I am just doing anything I can to help us win games."
He continued, "I’ve been working on my post moves and scoring in the mid-range. Footwork and getting stronger have been a major focus for me."
Syracuse is close to home and the Orange have built a relationship with Stewart who likes the program.
About the Orange, he said, "Syracuse is right in my backyard, so it is close to home and it is a great atmosphere. Also I like the coaching staff there, and it is a great program."
Also Indiana boss Archie Miller has made sure to make Stewart a priority recruit, and issued an offer shortly after seeing him.
"We got in touch and talked over the phone and offered," said Stewart of Miller and Indiana. "(Miller) just wants me to get to campus and see how Indiana is and get to meet the coaching staff."
For now Stewart says he is in no hurry with his recruitment and is open to all schools.
"I am still open to everybody and I just want to see what is the best place for me, and just go somewhere that fits me," said Stewart.
