Four-star recruit Jeremiah Tilmon signed with Missouri on Monday, the Tigers announced.
Tilmon, a 6-foot-10, 235-pound center, originally signed with Illinois, but backed off the pledge when there was a coaching change.
Cuonzo Martin told Scout on Monday he brings them a
"I think the great thing about Jeremiah is his ability to run the floor," Martin said. "He sprints the floor, blocks some shots and also just makes plays around the rim. They way he runs the floor, protects the lane and he has really good hands for a big guy."
"With the way we’ll get him in the weight room, he’ll be able to take that next step too," he added.
A standout at East St. Louis (Ill.) Senior, Tilmon is regarded as the No. 8 center and the No. 35 overall recruit in 2017.
Tilmon averaged 15.3 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks a game as a senior.
This is another significant recruit for Martin, who already snagged the nation's top player in Michael Porter, as well as 2017 guards Blake Harris and C.J. Roberts.
The Tigers are also the obvious leader for 2018 power forward Jontay Porter, who is the brother of Michael and the son of Missouri assistant coach Michael Porter Sr. Porter is contemplating a move to the 2017 class.
Missouri's 2017 class now moves from No. 14 up to No. 6 with the Tilmon addition.
