Valdir Manuel

Four-star Valdir Manuel continues to impress

Four-star big man Valdir Manuel has had an excellent spring for the New Jersey Playaz in the EYBL, and college coaches continue to be very interested in him.

The class of 2018 isn't filled with a ton of quality bigs, but one who continues to get better is Valdir Manuel. Manuel is now averaging 9.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in the EYBL while shooting 50 percent from the floor. He had several quality showings over the weekend in Georgia, and college coaches are making sure to stop by and see him.

"I think the spring has gone well," said Manuel. "I am just trying to play hard and help my team win."

When asked what he is looking to improve on, Manuel said, "I want to continue to rebound everything I can, and just get better with my offensive game."

On the recruiting trail schools such as TempleSeton HallRutgers, and St. John's have been watching Manuel quite a bit this spring.

About Temple, Manuel said, "I like the coaches a lot. Also they have a great program and they have shown me a lot of love."

When it comes to Seton Hall, Manuel responded, "They have a great coaching staff. I also really liked the atmosphere at games there."

For now Manuel appears to be in no hurry to make his commitment.

In regards to a college choice, Manuel said, "I am just trying to take my time."
