John Walker commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M picked up their fifth 2017 recruit on Wednesday with the addition of 6-foot-8 forward John Walker.

2017 recruit John Walker verbally committed to Texas A&M on Wednesday, he told Scout.

Walker, a 6-foot-8 forward, originally committed to Duquesne, but with their coaching change opted out. Walker took a visit to Texas A&M on Wednesday afternoon.

"I chose A&M because I feel like I won't just be bettering myself on the court, but a degree from A&M speaks volumes in the real world," Walker told Scout.

"Coach [Billy] Kennedy and coach [Ulric] Maligi really believes I can help bring a national championship to College Station," he added.

Walker is the fifth commitment of the Texas A&M's 2017 class. He joins four-star recruits Savion Flagg and TJ Starks, as well as Jay Jay Chandler and Isaih Jasey to make up the Aggies recruiting class.
