Kaden Archie is one of the top prospects in Texas in 2018 and is being recruited accordingly.
The 6-foot-6, 200-pound small forward from Midlothian is a versatile athlete who specializes in transition.
“I play defense, rebound, transition offense, get to the basket and get fouled,” Archie said. “I’m still working on my three-point shot; it’s improved a lot but I’m still trying to work on it.”
“I’m hearing the most from Texas, LSU, Florida, Wichita State and Illinois,” Archie said, before breaking down what he likes about each of them.
Texas: “I like coach Shaka Smart and his intensity. He makes you ready to play basketball and makes me feel like I’m a top priority.”
LSU: “They’ve been telling me I can come in and play right away. They’re telling me I can make a huge difference.”
Florida: “I hear from coach (Mike) White almost every day. He’s been talking to me, telling me what I need to work on.”
Wichita State: “I hear from the coaching staff a lot and they love me. They call me every day and have me as a high priority.”
Illinois: “Coach (Brad) Underwood recruited me at Oklahoma State and once he got to Illinois it was the same thing. He said he loves my game and intensity.”
Archie is in no rush to make a decision.
“I haven’t put a timetable or anything,” he said. “The recruiting process is still kind of new to me so I’m trying to take my time.”
