Ratliff Gives IU In-State Sweep

A.J. Ratliff, our No. 48 senior, has picked a college. He's headed to play for the Hoosiers in the Big Ten and his commitment completes a Hoosier sweep in the Hoosier state.

The Indiana Hoosiers have Robert Rothbart on campus this weekend but they still managed to find time to take a pledge from in-state guard A.J. Ratliff.

Ratliff, our No. 48 senior, picked the Hoosiers after hearing from Iowa, Xavier and Notre Dame throughout the process.

"The more I thought about it, the more I just felt this was the best place for me to play," Ratliff told The Indianapolis Star. "Indiana has a great class and I just wanted to be a part of it."

Josh Smith, D.J. White, Robert Vaden and James Hardy. That is a great class and with the addition of Ratliff, the Hoosiers will land our No.'s 5, 12, 44, 48 and 64 ranked players in a stellar effort.

After the spring, we realized just how much game Ratliff has and he's not done developing. He's a natural shooting guard who will certainly see time at the combo spot at Indiana. As good as offensive player as he is, he's equally efficient at the defensive end. Blessed with athletic ability, smarts and a nose for steals, he's going to be a very good college player.

With the addition of Ratliff, the Hoosiers have swept up the three best prospects in the senior class in the state of Indiana. Had Vaden not left for Bridgton Academy, all three would have challenged for Mr. Basketball this year.
