Kent State Lands Scott

Michael Scott is off the board. One of the better mid-major prospects in the state of Indiana is headed to Kent State.

Michael Scott is one of those young men who has all kinds of potential. Picture a sort of mid-major Darius Rice. That's right; he's slender, tall and has range on his jumper. And, he's headed to Kent State.

"I really liked when I visited," Scott said." Their guys just worked really hard. They were in the weight room and working. The players were inviting and cordial. I went out to eat with the coaches and they're real cool and we had fun but when it's time to work, they work."

Last season at Indianapolis Northwest, Scott averaged 12 points and 9 rebounds. Scott is blessed with a body that will invite both weight training and arms that are long enough to be a great defender. "Deflections, that's what they're there for," Scott joked.

The small forward was attracted to the way Jim Christian ran his program. "He was real confident in his program. He didn't put the pressure on me. He had a lot of confidence in what he's doing. He told me that it was going to be work. He didn't sugarcoat it or anything. I'm the working type so that didn't bother me at all."
