Tech Wins Morrow Race

Anthony Morrow, a Top 100 prospect, will play his college ball at Georgia Tech. The Charlotte Latin star spoke on his decision to play for Paul Hewitt's Yellow Jackets.

Anthony Morrow, Charlotte Latin's star swingman, had a script for his recruitment. He visited Tennessee, North Carolina State, Georgia Tech and Charlotte and according to plan, made a decision shortly after the visits.

Morrow will play his college ball in the ACC at Georgia Tech.

"I just felt like Georgia Tech was just a good place for me academically and from a basketball standpoint," Morrow said. "I thought I could do well at all four of the schools but I felt like Georgia Tech was a good place coming from Latin."

Ranked No. 99 in our pre-season Top 100, Morrow has some attractive qualities as a freshman. He averaged 23.4 points a game last season for Jerry Faulkner's bunch. He's been coached and has responded well to coaching in the past. In our viewings, he's come off as a young man who embraces a challenge and hunts big shots.

At Tech, he's going to have to earn his time and he knows it. "I really just think hard work will pay off. Coach Hewitt and Keener told me that. If I work hard it'll work out."

Last year, Morrow was an all-tournament performer at the Dell Curry Invitational when his Latin team lost the title game to Mount Zion.
