Daniel, Hunt To Chattanooga

Jeff Lebo's UT-Chattanooga program struck again on Friday. The Mocs landed themselves a quality big man and Lebo is building a fine 2004 class. Kenny Hunt was the first player, Ryan Daniel is the latest.

Ryan Daniel, a big man out of Madison (TN) Goodpasture, could have gone to Massachusetts. He could have picked Western Kentucky. In the end, he elected to stray two hours from home and play for Jeff Lebo's Chattanooga program.

"A lot of pressure is off. I was very happy when I committed to [Chattanooga]," Ryan Daniel said. "The coaches and the players – they were really nice. I felt like I fit right in. The coaches are unbelievable and they really care about the players."

Daniel played last summer for the Alabama Challenge and Tennessee Thunder. He averaged 13 points a game last season at Goodpasture.

He had some outstanding choices and visited UMass in September. However, it was the Mocs that won out in the end. "It's pretty close to home and my parents can come watch me every home game. It's not too close and not too far. It's just right."

Speaking of just right, Kenny Hunt should be a super guard for Lebo. He committed to the Mocs in the last week of September and he'll have a chance to be one of the better guards in the league early in his career.

Hunt was an all-tournament selection at the Southern Invitational when he excelled for the NC Gaters. He's a skilled deep shooter and a scorer at Atlavista (VA) High.

Lebo and the staff have one more scholarship to go and you can expect them to shoot for more size.
