Clark to 'Nova; Lowry Next?

Cardinal Dougherty junior forward Shane Clark committed to Villanova on Tuesday and his best friend, senior point guard Kyle Lowry, may not be far behind.

Cardinal Dougherty 6-8, 200-pound junior forward Shane Clark committed to Villanova ealier today after taking a visit to the campus this past weekend.

``I've loved the school and the staff all along," Clark said. "I love Jay Wright and this past weekend I realized how much I love the players. Committing early will allow me to concentrate on my academics."

Clark was joined by his best friend and Cardinal Dougherty teammate, senior point guard Kyle Lowry, on the visit. Lowry, who is also considering Arkansas and will take a visit to the Razorbacks on Nov. 1, is likely to follow Clark.

``I'm really excited to be a Philly guy re-starting the tradition at Villanova," Clark added.

Clark averaged 15 points per game last year.

``Villanova got absolutely a steal for 2005," Cardinal Dougherty assistant coach Dave Distol said. "He's going to be a fantastic player."
