Albany Lands A Trio

A month ago, two Martin Bros. Select players committed to Dayton. This month, a pair of kids off the same team picked Albany. From Iowa to New York, Albany got it done.

You know a staff is working when they go from Iowa to New York and come back with not just one prospect but a pair. That's what happened this week to Albany.

The Great Danes put in the time and for their efforts, landed a pair of players off the highly-regarded Martin Bros. Select AAU team.

Swingman Brian Lillis, a tough guard who can get to the rim committed and so did Brent Wilson, a 200+ pound forward. Like Jimmy Binnie and Trent Meacham (Dayton commits) did before them, they went as a pair to Albany.

"It sounded like a good idea," Wilson said. "They offered me in between Augusta and Orlando and they offered Brian about a month ago. I went on my visit three weeks ago and he just went a couple of weeks ago."

There's no doubt the Albany's staff hard work and determination impressed Wilson and Lillis. "When Brian wasn't even home, they came out and sat down with his parents and coach. After watching me this summer, Coach Brown flew out to see me. Then one morning Coach Driscoll came out to see me in an open gym. They recruited Brian and I like priorities from day one."

But wait, Albany wasn't done this week. The Danes accepted a commitment from guard David Bauman of Free Port (PA) High. He played last summer with the Keystone Gators.
