South Alabama Gets Steal
The word "steal" often times gets way overused in the business of college basketball recruiting. However, on Sunday South Alabama gained a commitment from a player who is the definition of the word steal for their program.
Richard Law, a swingman from Houston (TX) Clearlake, visited and committed to South Alabama this weekend.
"I just liked the campus and all that stuff. The coaches and the gym were great," Law said. "They need a shooter and someone to take it to the hole."
Law was a standout on the spring and summer AAU circuit with the Houston SuperStars. He has the potential to be a big-time collegiate scorer. He's a shooter/slasher type who could have played for a number of teams in bigger conferences, but to South Alabama's credit, they were able to seal the deal.
New Mexico State and Colorado State were also considered. Law, the only junior on the Houston All-Area team last year, averaged 22 points last season.
