10 months ago, Tulane assistant Steve Snell sat in the stands at the City of Palms Classic. Fort Myers High standout Robinson Louisme was in the midst of a breakout week. The power forward was having his way with guys and Snell was taking it all in.
It was during the City of Palms event that the groundwork for Tulane's recruitment of Louisme was laid. On Tuesday, Snell and head coach Shawn Finney's handiwork paid off for Tulane.
"I felt like I fit in real well with the guys when I was there," Louisme said. "The school attracts me. I'm trying to graduate and get a degree from there."
Louisme said that he also considered South Alabama. South Carolina gave him so looks but never committed to a visit date.
The big man knows there's work to be done. "I got to work out and get in there not like a high school player and lift weights and run more and have better stamina. Their players are real good and they've got good players in every spot. I think I'll go well with them."
