Wilkins Makes Decision

Eric Wilkins, a guard from Oak Hill Academy, has reached a college decision. The New Jersey native will play his college basketball in the Big East.

Wilkins Is A Hurricane

After visiting Miami's campus, Oak Hill combo guard Eric Wilkins opted to play college basketball at Miami.

"He told me that he really liked the coaches," Oak Hill coach Steve Smith said. "When you go on these visits, you are making a basketball decision in the end. I like the kids to find out about the coaches and talk to the players about them."

Wilkins averaged 6.7 points on what was a loaded Oak Hill team last year that included Billy Edelin, Rashaad Carruth and Sagana Diop. He shot 52% from the floor and played 16 minutes a game. He had a big summer on the wings and his recruitment reflects that. He was going to visit Boston College and San Diego State.

Wilkins has been a consummate team guy since his arrival in Oak Hill. "They told me that he was thinking about his team back at Oak Hill when he was on his visit to Miami. That's the kind of kid he is."
