Jahron Giddings Pulls Trigger

Jarhon Giddings made a decision after taking an official visit - his third - this past weekend and the 6-9, 225-pound senior forward will help jumpstart one A-10 school.

Former Blacksburg High (Va.) 6-9, 225-pound senior forward Jarhon Giddings returned from a visit to Richmond and committed to the Spiders.

Giddings chose Richmond over Tulane and Virginia Tech.

``Just their persistence and the feel he got from (Coach) Jerry Wainwright and the whole staff," said AAU coach Tony Squire.

Giddings, who has played with the Squires program for the past three years, moved to Winston-Salem for his senior season after his parents - both professors - took jobs in North Carolina.

``The Richmond people have been on him from the beginning with sincere interest," Squire added. "He has unbelievable work ethic and absorbs like a sponge.
