Haddan Favors Ivy Education

Patrick Haddan, 6-1 PG Irvine (Calif.) Woodbridge, is drawing interest from some West Coast schools. However, Patrick told us that the education at an Ivy League school could be the deciding factor in his decision...

We spoke with Patrick Haddan, 6-1 PG Irvine (Calif.) Woodbridge, last night and he gave us an update on his recruitment.

Patrick has had in-home visits so far with Cal Poly SLO and Cornell. He'll take a trip to Cal Poly this weekend. Portland is scheduled to watch him practice today.

Patrick has already taken an official visit to Princeton. We asked him about the trip and he said, "It was fun -- went real well. The campus is really nice, the team looked good and I spent some time with the players and the coaches."

We asked him to compare the opportunity to play close to home vs. the education he can receive at an Ivy League school. "I'm leaning to the Ivy League because of the education," Patrick said. "Also, Princeton plays some big-time schools. I think they play Cal early this year and they're on television probably more than some of the schools out here."

In addition to Princeton and Cornell, Patrick is also hearing from Pennsylvania and he's scheduled to visit the school on October 19th.

Patrick told us that he hopes to sign in the fall.
