Alabama Lands First Recruit

Alabama joined the ranks of teams with committed players. On Wednesday, the Crimson Tide landed themselves a forward from the state of Georgia.

Brock Picks Tide

Evan Brock, a 6-8 combo forward from Roswell (GA) Lassiter selected the Alabama Crimson Tide this week. Brock also considered Clemson and Mississippi State.

"I liked the school and the academics and they had a good business department," Brock said. "I liked the coaches and the type of players they had. I felt comfortable with it."

Last year, Brock averaged 16 points and 10.1 rebounds. He attracted attention in July while playing for the Georgia Jazz at the AAU National Championship in Orlando, Fla.

At Alabama, he says Gottfried has a plan for him. "I'll probably play the three-spot. I'm left-handed and I am versatile with the size that I am."
