Diogu Still On Tour, Has A Leader

Ike Diogu, a frontcourt player from Garland, Tex., is three-fifths of the way finished with his official visits. All that remains before he makes a fall decision are trips to two more college programs.

Illinois, UConn Trips Remain

Big Ike Diogu has already been to Arizona State, Seton Hall and Georgetown. The 6-9, 240 pounder will visit Illinois for Midnight Madness and then UConn later in the month.

So far, he's enjoyed each campus visit he's made. "I'd have to say the visits were all the same," Diogu said. "Every campus was a little different from the other one. I can't say one was better than the others."

While he isn't about to give away which trip he liked the best, his leader remains the same. "Arizona State is still my leader. They were the ones who heard about me first and have been on me since the beginning. Their program is on the rise and Coach Evans is starting to turn things around."

Digou had four visits planned – Illinois, Arizona State, Seton Hall and Alabama – but re-evaluated his destinations after the home visits. He dropped Alabama, told Kansas thanks but no thanks and replaced added Georgetown and UConn to his list of trips.

"What I did was go ahead and cancel my visit to Alabama. Over the course of the time it just was just a place that I knew I wasn't going to go to so I had to fill it with a place I knew I could go to."

Diogu will decide on his destination in late October or early November.
