Tigers Mining Lithuanian Connection

Missouri apparently has two commitments for the Class of 2002. Jimmy McKinney is already on board for the Tigers and he has a tall friend who apparently will join him next season.

Lithuanian Will Be A Tiger

One of Quin Snyder's chief recruiters at Missouri, Lane Odom, has some serious Lithuanian connections. So does his father Dave, as each has been responsible for a foreign big man or two the past few seasons. It looks like the junior Odom has landed another one.

According to Whit Lesure, the head coach at Bridgton Academy, Giedrius Rinkevicius will be a member of the Missouri program next season. The 7-2, 220 pound Lithuanian who sometimes goes by "G" by default, is a player.

"He's 18 years old; not a rail," Lesure said. "He's a skilled kid and is left-handed. He's fairly fluid with good feet and catches the ball well. He can step out with good range. Strength is the No. 1 thing and learning to play as big as you are is important."

Missouri has a commitment from combo guard Jimmy McKinney, the top player in the Show Me State this year. "G" would be the Tigers second recruit of the season.
