Boggan Has Leader, On The Verge

Power forward Mario Boggan is going to make a decision this week. In all likelihood, he's going to head up north and play in the Atlantic-10.

Mario Boggan, a former Florida Gator, is on the verge of making a commitment. Boggan, (No. 39, 2002), a native of Durham, N.C., is probably going to announce his choice this week.

"I think he's made the decision and might do it by Thursday," Steve Shelton, Boggan's AAU coach said. "It looks like he's leaning towards St. Bonaventure. I'd be shocked if he doesn't go there."

Boggan played in 16 games last season for Florida but his game wasn't a perfect fit with Florida's style and Boggan felt a change needed to be made. He visited St. Bonaventure two weeks ago.

"He felt really comfortable with Coach Solomon. He liked the kids and the size of the school."

Last weekend, Boggan was scheduled to visit New Mexico State. However, the forward got sick and did not make the visit. Temple was also in the mix but it appears that the Bonnies are going to land this prospect sometime in the near future and it will be a significant addition for Solomon's crew.

It's likely that Boggan will enroll at his new school at the semester break.
