2005 Focus: Lamar Falley

The 6-3 combo guard from Las Vegas, Lamar Falley, has flashed enough talent in summer events the last two years to get early attention from some impressive schools -- such as Kansas, Kentucky, Connecticut and Arizona...

Lamar Falley, 6-3 JR SG, Las Vegas (Nev.) Durango, is a very intriguing combo guard prospect, with the shooting and scoring ability of a two-guard but the ball-handling and playmaking of a point guard.

Falley, who is currently ranked the #2 shooting guard in the west coast class of 2005, has been hearing quite a bit from any schools around the country – and have had some coaches already come out to watch him play.

"I've been hearing from Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, Connecticut, Arizona, Louisville, and California pretty well," Falley said. "I've also heard from North Carolina, but not as much as the others. And it hasn't been just plain letters but hand-written letters, so I think that means more than just a form letter."

Falley said that coaches from Utah, USC, UCLA and Oregon came to Las Vegas during the recent contact period to watch him work out. "Yeah, it was great to have all the coaches come see me this early," Falley said.

Falley said he's been getting recruited the hardest by Kansas so far. He listed the Jayhawks among his favorites, along with Connecticut, Texas, Clemson and Kentucky.

With all of his early favorites outside of the west, Falley said he has no problem with going far away from home for college. "It's an experience, and going away would be good for you."

He said he has a 3.0 GPA and just recently took the PSAT.
