2003 First Look: Brian Randle

One of the finest underclassmen performers at the Nike All-American Camp was East Peoria (IL) Notre Dame small forward Brian Randle. The 6-7 Randle has been entertaining college coaches for the last several weeks.

Alford, Self, Williams Make Appearances

Brian Randle, a 6-7, 185 pound junior small forward, entertained nearly 10 high-major programs during the early part of the fall evaluation period. So far, Kansas, North Carolina, Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois, Purdue, Kentucky and Notre Dame have been by to see him.

Mike Brey, Bill Self, Steve Alford and Roy Williams think highly enough of Randle that each personally made a trip to watch him workout. Randle averaged 17 points and 7 rebounds as a sophomore last season. He excelled last spring and summer while playing with the St. Louis Eagles.

Randle is an easy prospect to like. He's left-handed, skilled and has plenty of basketball savvy. He can step out and shoot the ball to 3-point range, but his game is very diverse. He'll challenge shots, sky for tip ins and put it on the floor.

This weekend, Randle is going to make an unofficial visit to Illinois for the Minnesota football game. Later in the month, Randle will trip to South Bend to take in a weekend with the Fighting Irish.
