Jerome Johnson Update

Jerome Johnson, a PF formerly of the Bullis School, is not at IMG Academy and he's getting things done down there. He's also hearing from some high-major schools.

Jerome Johnson, a 6-7 PF from Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy, has made strides as a player for Tony Tucker since his arrival at the school. Actually, that's a recurring theme with kids down at the academy which is also home base for a number of NBA teams when it comes to working out their players.

"In the month of the half that he's been here he's made tremendous progress," Tucker said. "He basically had no offense but that's one of the areas where he's surprisingly better. He's actually shooting 3s right now comfortably. He probably couldn't make five straight 8 foot shots when he first got here."

Recently, Johnson visited Nebraska officially. "He was impressed with the whole thing," Tucker said. "That was a really good first visit for him."

Penn State and Pittsburgh have begun to show interest in Johnson too. However, a number of schools are waiting for the season to begin and also for Johnson's grades to come up. He'll take the test again in December.
