Gay Makes College Decision

Rudy Gay is going to announce his college decision later in the day. However, multiple sources have confirmed that he's made his decision and has notified the parties involved.

Rudy Gay, a 6-8 forward out of Severn (MD) Archbishop Spalding, has committed to Connecticut, multiple sources confirmed on Monday.

Gay,'s No. 10 prospect, will publicly announce the decision at a press conference later this afternoon.

The Huskies had been the behind the scenes leader for Gay since the start of the fall period. However, Maryland appeared to have some momentum after its Midnight Madness visit. But, when the Terrapins were unable to get Gay onto campus for an unofficial visit this weekend, the Huskies looked to have weathered the storm.

Cecil Kirk AAU coach Anthony Lewis said that his standout player had to get dental work done from an injury he incurred two years ago at a camp. "He cracked his tooth two years ago at Nike Camp. He had a couple of caps put on and one of them fell off in practice on Thursday, so he had to go to the dentist on Saturday."

UConn now holds a commitment from A.J. Price (No. 21) and Gay. Albert Weber visited the school last weekend.
