Baltimore Guard Picks MAAC School

Jack McClinton didn't waste much time after coming to South Kent (Conn.) from Calvert Hall (Md.). He got it done this morning when he chose a MAAC program.

Baltimore native and South Kent (Conn.) 6-1, 175-pound senior point guard Jack McClinton committed to Siena this morning, giving coach Rob Lanier a quality backcourt player capable of putting up numbers.

McClinton averaged 19.5 points and five assists last season at Calvert Hall (Md.) before spending this season at South Kent.

``When I went to Siena, it's not a huge school but it's somewhere I can play for an up-and-coming program," McClinton said. "It's a nice campus with a good arena and I heard that people in Albany fall in love with you."

McClinton, who visited Siena last Thursday, also considered Central Connecticut State and Hartford.

``He's a great pickup for them," South Kent coach Raphael Chillious said. "Even though he'll be playing primarily the point, he's got a combo guard mentality. He can really shoot it and is a tough kid who's not going to back down from anybody. He expects to go in there and command minutes."
