Forte Wastes Little Time In Deciding

Jason Forte, a combo guard from Bay Springs, Miss., is headed north to play college basketball. Forte made a visit this weekend and then wasted little time in committing.

They'll Be Two Forte's In Boston

Jason Forte, a distant relative of Celtics guard Joe Forte, is headed to Boston College.

"It was basically either them or Miami and Miami got a commitment from a guard," Forte said. "Everybody was kind of sliding off and I really liked Boston College. It's a very nice place."

The plan for Forte will be to play him alongside Troy Bell as a two-guard. But he says his role will evolve. "They are talking about playing me with Troy and when he leaves, maybe then a combo," Forte said. Apparently, he's done a little growing since July. "I am 6-5, 209 right now."

Forte said the decision to pick the Eagles was pretty easy. "The educational part is tremendous and the campus is so pretty. We'll win at Boston College. The players seemed very cool."

Last year, Forte averaged a robust 28 points, 11 boards and four assists. He played last summer with the Jackson Panthers.
