2006 PF Headed To Big 12

Chris Roquemore, a 6-8, 205 pound sophomore power forward out of Cleveland (TX) Heritage Christian, became the third committed member from the Class of 2006.

On Saturday, during an unofficial visit to Baylor, Chris Roquemore becomes the third member of the Class of 2006 to offer a commitment to a program.

The 6-8, 200 pound Roquemore, committed to Scott Drew's Baylor University program.

"It's been in the works," Roquemore told TheInsidersHoops.com. And why? "Coach Tang, baby."

Jerome Tang, an assistant at Baylor is the former head coach at Heritage Christian. He and Roquemore struck up a relationship and that was a big part of Roquemore's decision.

"I feel like everybody is committing early," Roquemore said. "When Coach Tang first saw me, I said I would go to Heritage. Then when he went to Baylor, well, I just love Coach Tang.

Roquemore is going to be a player. He already is an excellent shot blocker and performed well on a national stage with Houston Select at the spring Texas Classic. He's a high-major player, with a strong body.

"[Being close to home] is real important because I wanted my mom to see me play. I go to a Christian school and I'm a real high believer in God."
