Halbert Makes One Visit, Decides

It only took Jeff Halbert one official visit to figure out which school was best for him. Halbert, from White Bear Lake, is headed to the Mid-American Conference.

Ohio U. Lands Halbert

Jeff Halbert, a 6-6 swingman from White Bear Lake (MN) South, is headed to Ohio University to play for Tim O'Shea.

"It's a good situation and I should be able to go in and play right away," Halbert said. "I like the players and the coaches."

Halbert needed just one official visit to pick the MAC school. He had been hearing from William & Mary, Cornell and Boston University. He averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds last year. He's the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,303 points.

Halbert consistently demonstrated this spring and summer that he can flat out shoot the basketball. While playing with the Pulley Panthers, he connected on some big-time looks from downtown and that was the mark he left on the summer AAU circuit.
